This is an interesting sheet.  That pattern doesn\'t look all that unusual for a good 3yo does it?...hitting that first 1 there.  I think I\'ve seen that quite a bit, with a race, a slight improvement, and then a big pop.  You\'ve posted a few of these and I think the ones where they are older horses are more compelling examples.  Seeing this kind of thing in 4/5 year olds is more startling to this observer.  

Also...the horse ran three big ones and then they shipped to Belmont for a mile and a quarter without any real break for months.  Looks like maybe those big ones just busted him out and they kept going to the well and that just made it worse. Pretty common.  Do you know if they plan to bring this one back?  Or was he injured and off for good?
