I\'m going with this one & will box with the favs. Puzzled by all the chat earlier in the week as to why QR won\'t get the distance - why not? In any case, Our Edge has a great looking pattern to me...improving, not that many races. I think today he gets into negative territory & @ 15:1 offers great value. this is a good time of year to bet horses who were not getting big PR in the Spring because they were missing the Derby for whatever reason (like QR yo say?)...
In the form, Our Edge\'s PPs/running style looks very similar to what Da\'Tara carried into the Belmont last year.
And look at the connections. (Zito/Garcia)
if I heard correctly, Our Edge will be in dual bar shoes today. If that is correct, that will be a throwout for me.
I heard that too. Definently hard to see him beating a field like this with two bar shoes.
Wonder if Zito will consider scratching?
help me out here...what exact impact would that have? I don\'t know...
OUR EDGE---a perfect example of what happens if you don\'t consider class which is another term for the ability to adjust to and withstand colts who can put up stronger pace numbers than the mules Our Edge was beating up on at Delaware while earning a zero figure.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
no argument, good point...obviously trying to find value in that one was a real reach. Wished you had posted this @ noon yesterday...
Generally speaking, horses run with bar shoes because they have a foot problem such as a quarter crack. Although they may still win in lower level races such as maiden claimers, etc., it is pretty rare to win a graded stakes wearing a bar shoe. A horse running in a bar shoe won\'t be able to get traction as well as a horse without a bar shoe. It\'s kind of like running in sand at the beach. Having two bar shoes tells you that the horse\'s feet are not in good shape making an instant toss for me.
