Really strong bunch of fillies! Nice renewal here. Firm turf and rail at 7 feet (usually favors closers)
1)Internallyflawless: Must have needed her last and was running some late (galloped out fine); I still think she needs to improve to beat these. I\'ll leave her out and hope she doesn\'t run huge. I Never like tossing Baffert runners.
2)Nan: Probably safe to toss her; she has shown little on grass so far.
3)Hermione\'s Magic: Ran pretty well and actually beat me out of a lot of cash in her last. I just think she\'d have to improve much to get close to these girls.
4)Dreamalong: Nice filly, but this is a huge step up. In year\'s past at Del Mar Julio\'s magic spell would have moved her way up, not sure that\'s coming today.
5)Well Monied: A real beast! Comes in fresh - real tough to beat if she runs her race. There might be value elsewhere, but she\'s hard to look past.
6)Strawberry Tart: A gorgeous filly, one I\'d love to own, in my dreams of course. She\'s very solid and will give a good account of herself, maybe has more tactical speed than some of her rivals, and in a pace-less race that will help her chances.
7)Starlarks: Another strong filly. Why did Alex get off her for the other Paddy Gallagher filly? I can not answer that. Perhaps he thinks she\'s best at a slightly shorter distance. I can\'t see Brice Blanc finishing as well as Solis (one of the all time great finishing riders). Still, I can\'t totally toss her.
8)Hameildaeme: Decent finisher; I\'m not sure she\'s as good as the top fillies in here but always tries.
9) Lexlenos: Alex\'s choice has me a little puzzled, but maybe she\'s just getting good now. A bit of a tough call for me.
10)Donttellmewhattodo: Certain to be the lone and lonely speed in here. I think her breeding is suspect to stay the mile and an eighth, but if the grass favors speed, she might hold on. I\'m probably not biting but the price will be right for O\'Neill fans.
The main girls are Strawberry Tart and Well Monied. Tart will likely offer more value. I\'ll probably use those two in exotics and multi-race wagers. The live longshot appears to be Lexlenos with Hameildaeme and Starlarks right there too; I\'ll use them underneath the top two: 5/6, 5/6, 7,8,9, 7,8,9,1,3,4 (tri\'s/ supers, etc.) I wish this race was a high five.
