Title: Garcia got pulled off of Charitable Man for Travers
Post by: covelj70 on August 21, 2009, 04:53:51 PM
Kirian said today that Ramon is going to ride Charitable Man in the Travers.  I don\'t think this will matter and I am done wasting my money on this animal who has never won around around two turns and who hangs badly in these races but....Garcia did give him two HORRIBLE rides in the Belmont and the Jim Dandy.  He had no chance in the Belmont anyway as it turned out but I am very happy to see the change because I think Ramon can\'t help but to give him a better ride next Saturday.

Two bullet works coming out of the Jim Dandy.

Wasn\'t the Travers always the target?

Looked sluggish in the Dandy, but he did get his last 3f\'s in 36.50.

Garcia rode this horse like he\'s Funny Moon.At least Ramon will attempt to save ground.

Giving CM one last chance at a nice price next Saturday.

Given that I have sworn off of him, you are probably right to give him one more chance :)

Interesting to see how they ride him.

Not sure CM wants to sit outside and behind horses. I\'m thinking they go to the lead next Saturday assuming they draw inside of QR.

Garcia\'s ride on him in the Dandy was brutal. May be a blessing in disguise as his effort didn\'t take to much out of him (2 terrific works may also indicate that) and his pattern indicates he doesn\'t put 2 races together.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Not sure what that horses preferred style is.

They put him on the engine in his debut and he aired. In the Futurity he broke fast and Garcia wrestled him back then had to slingshot him widest in a win.

Bluegrass was a waste.Peter Pan he broke fast again and sat off a hot pace.Belmont was wide wide reserved.Difficult to gauge him off that because of the distance.Dandy he broke fast again and was taken back and the two front runners kept going.Maybe they should send him in the Travers.

Quality Road stretching from 6.5 to 10 furlongs is asking a lot.Pletcher probably doesn\'t want him to get into an early duel-might be content to sit a stalkers trip which would be less demanding.CM with a chance to steal under that scenario if he\'s good enough.Odds might be worth a play to find out.

Big,

Was a big fan of CM, but now doubt his \"gas\". Story I\'m told was that Garcia did not \"feel\" enough under him when he took back in the Jim Dandy after outbreaking the field first few jumps.

Would not worry too much re the stretch out for QR as he has tons of two minute licks under his belt for months.He\'s just faster than all of them but being short may get him beat, of course.I like that somewhat tough fought comeback sprint win to move QR forward, if he stays healthy.

Been away for awhile...busy...want to comment on this switch.

They are both fine jockeys...the switch will make no difference...it\'s a sign of desperation and confusion, which is rare in this barn, but it\'s nothing else.

I\'d bet this horse as a bit of desperation myself...he has no chance and the switch is telling you that.

I was thinking the same thing as I read some of the posts.  Since when did Ramon become a better rider than Garcia?
