Season premiere tonight at 10 Eastern, with repeats every few hours afterwards.
I hardly need mention that the exquisitely yummy and fantastically beautiful Chantal Sutherland will be prominently featured again this season. Story line? Yeah, sure, whatever.
I\'ve seen her and Smith together twice in person. The first time was at a bar near Gulfstream a year and a half ago, when Roger Neubauer and I were down there. It was near closing, they were the only ones on the other side of the horseshoe bar. They didn\'t speak at all, he was stone faced, looked like he could explode in rage any second.
The second time was at a party here in NY for some racing function (Belmont?) that summer. A friend of mine shook hands with her, she held on to his hand long enough that Smith came over and yanked her hand away.
If the camera guys are on their toes they may be able to capture something pretty special.
Will P-Dub defend Smith\'s relationship as vociferously as his five-wide riding style???
What condition were you in at \"near closing time?\" lol
If the camera guys capture something special, do you think it\'ll air?
I got some good first hand stories I can share about Garrett Gomez, Gary Stevens, Kent D, Chris McCarron, too, but we don\'t wanna soil their reputations in an open forum, or do we?
No, but I will
Small-- if any of those guys put their relationships on TV you are free to post whatever you have first hand knowledge of, as I did. This has nothing to do with picking on Smith, he just happens to be the guy who put his relationship out there for the public.
I was in fine shape that night, unfortunately, since I was on vacation. I don\'t live on race track time, and I do live in a four o\'clock town, so I start late. Or it used to be a four o\'clock town-- I just found out they are no longer giving out four o\'clock liquor licenses in NY. It\'s the end of civilization.
Anyway, the bar in question closes early enough that I probably hadn\'t had a second drink yet. And while I drink often, I don\'t drink much-- two is usually it, occasionally three.
Whats to defend?? He hooked up with Chantal.
TGJB, my suggestion to your condition was made in jest, hence, the lol.
I may be a bit sensitive because I\'ve known and liked Mike for almost 30 years. In fact, in 1981, to that point, I lost my biggest bet ever on a horse Mike rode as a bug boy at AkSarBen. I blamed my handicapping, not the horse or jockey.
Personally, I\'m looking forward to Season 2. Jon Court blowing up in the jockey\'s room was something we don\'t often see. That behind the scenes action doesn\'t flatter Jon, but it does put in perspective the pressures of not winning enough that the public rarely sees.
Peace out.
I realize I\'m in the huge minority when it comes to these \"reality\" shows, but I feel they are as far from reality as one can possibly get. Imagine spending your day with a camera three feet away from your face.....\"Just pretend we\'re not here\". Yah, ok, sure.

Nice 5 wide ride he gave the #3 in today\'s opener.
I\'d like to congratulate the creators of \"Jockeys\" for making the exciting
spectacle of thoroughbred racing a thing of boredom.
OK I will admit that I believe \"reality\" TV is a huge factor in the \"dumbing down\"
of America. I only wish that John Gotti had lived long enough to see five minutes
of \"Growing Up Gotti\" so that he might have ordered a hit on his daughter and her
3 sons.
Have they shown yet on \"Jockeys\" a 116 pound rider wolfing down an expensive
steak dinner and then \"flipping\" it in the bushes outside of the restaurant?
Have the delved into the issue of why riders like big cars and tall women?
Answer-- so they look even shorter and everyone knows they are jockeys.
Speaking of jockeys, I was not happy to hear about the plight of Norberto Arroyo.
Wonder if he will get multiple second chances, as did PVal and his baseball
equivalent, Steve Howe.
Second chances? Come on Richee! Arroyo has been convicted of two felonies and recently had an altercation with a girlfriend. Would you still have a job?

You don\'t understand. The reality show is on the OTHER side of the screen.
