Title: You can't believe anything you read on The Sheets Board
Post by: Silver Charm on March 05, 2003, 08:21:21 AM

Just wanted to set the record straight. With all of the lies and misinformation that is produced daily if not hourly on The Sheets Board a handicapper could become utterly clueless regarding what is fact or fiction in the sport of horse racing.

A poster on their board stated that Brians Time won the 1988 Fla Derby by 10 lengths.
The margin was actually a neck when he ran down a tiring front running Forty Niner in the final 50 yards.

This is the same Forty Niner who was beaten by a head later in the fall by Alysheba in the old Marlboro Cup run at 1 mile and 1/4. A race that was run in track record time. After the race Laffit Pincay told trainer Woody Stephens to \"put blinkers on the horse and when the two rivals squared off again the outcome would be different\".

That my friends is a quote you have never read or heard anywhere else but here!!!

Needless to say Pincay was ignored and subsequently replaced after a Jockeys Guild dispute. Alysheba went on to win the BC Classic while Forty Niner was a poorly ridden 4th.

What might have been. No, what should have been.
