Title: Sword Dancer
Post by: Michael D. on August 15, 2009, 05:37:50 AM
GRAND COUTURIER - with Garcia  up from post 1, this guy\'s best wins this. very dangerous obviously, but can a horse that\'s won this races the past two years offer much value?

GENTLEMAN CHESTER - the \'4\' first try past 1 1/16 was disappointing, but is this guy cycling back to the \'2\' level? with Julian saving all the ground from the 2 hole, the \'2\' would be competitive. will the son of Chester House out of an AP Indy full to Storm Bird get the 12f? interesting at 15-1.

LAURO - a nice closing 2nd at 1 3/8 over the rock hard Mth course last. should appreciate today\'s conditions. Chavez has an atrocious turf ROI, but he does save ground. last fits well here, especially at 10-1.

BETTER TALK NOW - last was actually competitive here, but the closing style could be a problem in the 10 horse field.

RISING MOON - certainly competitive off the dirt numbers, just not sure about this guy on turf.

AMERICAIN - \'3.5\' Euro top isn\'t enough, but it\'s 1st Pletcher and 1st lasix, so expect some improvement.

TELLING - could get a piece, but ground loss is going to be an issue.

QUIJANO - has a number of runs in the \'2\' range, but gets killed with weight here.

BRASS HAT - another \'2\' type. Borel is gonna have to save all the ground from the 9 hole.

MUSKETIER - has a competitive \'2\' and nice timing.

If GC fires, he wins. The other CG (2) is interesting at 15-1 with what could be a big trip edge under Leparoux. Lauro makes sense at 10-1 with the solid figures. Use the 3 inside horses, hoping the 2 or 3 hit at a price.

agree with you that Lauro has to be played, but a guy named Steve Hobby does not need to ship a horse to Saratoga to win when there are a few stks races in Chitown he could win...leave out at your own risk.

I\'m playing the GC, Lauro, Quijano, Brass Hat Super.
Good luck to all.

Gentleman Chester is the key.

His second place finish to Just As Well was flattered last week by Just as Well\'s strong second place finish to Gio Ponti. That strong a comeback by JAW makes me believe that the number might be a little light as that probably represented a slight regression for Gio Ponti and forward move by JAW. Gentleman Chester gets a positive rider change to Leparoux who should sit right behind the leaders, save ground and hopefully find room late.

This relatively weak Sword Dancer field is primed for an upset. With a 15 - 1 morning line that could go even higher at post time Gentleman Chester could be the one.

Will key with the 1,4,6,8,9 and 10 in the exotics.

Please explain to me how you structured your bet? I just don\'t see the winner being in the mix without using the all button in the first position.

OK. But why Telling? TG had him 7th fastest of 10 coming in. Was it shanahan\'s tip on Hobby?
