Can anybody explain to me what\'s the reasoning behind hyperbaric oxygen therapy and why The State Wagering and Racing Board just slapped a 7 day ban prior to any horse racing-more than Kentucky, that has a 24hr. rule? Just read about it in the Albany Times Union

This is in NY?

I thought it was just used to promote wound healing and prevent necrosis, etc. but it\'s so new that maybe there are performance enhancing properties.

It\'s much more expensive than straight doping though--the vet clinic where I used to work it was $500/treatment and each treatment was for 1hr or less with the recommended # of treatments being 5-10 depending on the severity of the injury.
