Heard a local news report yesterday on quarter horse racing in Miami-Dade county. They want to put slot machines in the airport, but the slots must be supported by quarter-horse racing, where some of the revenue goes to purses. If one of the local tracks (including defunct Hialeah) do not agree to run the races, the county will consider (wait for it):
