Title: Gio Ponti's Man o' War Number
Post by: jbelfior on July 12, 2009, 04:12:50 AM
Wide every step of the way. I\'m guessing this may be one of the best turf #\'s ever given out by Thorograph.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Just ae Well probably added to the 41% Tops for Sheppard.
Doubt he set any TG records for #;s but he circled the field on the far turn. Carried about highweight and beat a couple of horses who are not that far from the 2 range on their best day.

Key for hom is can he hold that figure for Million Day. Probably has 4-5 weeks to recover and I\'m sure will do so back on the farm or wherever has the last six weeks for premier barehands hay and oats conditioner

Glad to see there is at least one left.......

Joe B:

And it also brings in the lovely question for debate:

What if the wide ground was the better ground?

Richie:

Sometimes it is. Not sure about this time. Wide on the inner with 123 pounds coming from out of it on a day where there were 3 wire to wire winners on the turf. Field was a quality bunch. Extremely impressive!!

Good Luck,
Joe B.
