I have a rooting interest in Seeking the Sluice in the second at Belmont today, and am looking for a reason to bet him. Probably forcing the issue as Grassy has a superior TG figure. But I don\'t see any off turf sire data on the TG sheet, and am wondering how a figure on yielding turf might compare to firm turf. Grassy\'s one race was yielding turf and today turf is firm. Any ideas on how to adjust or just take the number for what its worth and save my money.
Don\'t have the TG\'s but Seeking the Sluice is sired by Seeking the Gold who has over 30% winners on turf and has had success with tracks labeled soft or yielding

Would not crown Grassy the champ here yet. I can see him easily catching a 3w3w.. Both Smart Selection and Seeking the Sluice look like they could fire a 10 or 11 here and win with 1w1w, 1w,2w
Is there a source for the comment has had success on courses labeled soft or yielding or is that an anecdotal observation.
I\'m not trying to changeling but it would helpful if there were such a source.
I took that from Jim Mazur\'s Sire Rating where Seeking the Gold gets a Y and an A+ for off tracks. \"Y = sire progeny had some success on turf courses labeled soft or yielding.\" For what it\'s worth he gives very few sires a Y or Y+ rating on turf, I\'ll guess less than 5%.
