Title: A new member of the "tea-leaves reading" fraternity?
Post by: derby1592 on February 26, 2003, 08:11:22 PM
The following is a direct cut and paste from an article written by Steven Crist of the DRF. If I didn\'t know better and ignored the references to Beyer Figs, I would have thought it was written by some \"tea-leaves reading\" sheet player. Next thing you know Crist will be telling us that he thinks Congaree with bounce in the Big Cap...

\"A Beyer of 93 is a very good debut figure for a 3-year-old in January, but not so spectacular as to guarantee the horse will be a stakes winner unless something goes awry physically. It could be the start of something great but it doesn\'t have to be. Conversely, a horse who starts out running back-to-back 84\'s is no bum, and pairing those figures is as likely to be a platform for a move forward in start number three as it is a confirmation of mediocrity.\"
