Title: PHA Race 8 Saturday
Post by: smalltimer on June 13, 2009, 05:45:00 PM
Interesting the top 3 finishers in the 200K stakes were all shippers from Churchill.  45/1,  16/1, and 37/1

This would be an interesting TG analysis after the figures are done for this race. The 3 longest shots on the board coming from a state with stricter drug testing. 3 big new tops?

I don\'t know about the days in question, but several horses that ran poorly Derby weekend have come back and exploded. Two of them are Zito horses. I might run something on this down the line.

JB,
The 3 finishers in the PHA race actually ran the week following the Derby, on
May 7th, 9th and 14th.  They were all exiting races on a sloppy surface, but all ran very well in their Churchill race.

Steve Margolis\' horse stayed and worked at CD, then shipped in.  The other two, trained by Ronny Werner moved to Delaware for 2-3 works there and then shipped to Philadelphia.

CD was clean Derby wekend, either because of the new CD protocols (which included using the Florida lab for the first time, which DOES blood test for Clenbuterol), or because the supertesting outfit was there for the weekend. It looked good for a while afterward. More recently, it looks like something has changed-- a couple of runners from the usual suspects have jumped way up, and were heavily bet (those had also been cold on the board). I don\'t know what if anything changed, and for various reasons that I will go into when I have time, it may be harder to find out now or get something fixed.

The only way we are going to be able to attack this problem is to get ALL test results published-- what horse, what drug, what method of testing, what exact result. That way we will know that the tracks are doing there job.

The 16/1 and 37/1 were my keys in that race.. needless to say, I didn\'t use the 45/1.  Pretty much the way things have been going for me since the Belmont.

Sorry to chime in late on this; this was a strange race! They go 21:2 and 43:4, and then the whole thing caves....turns out that Cinderella\'s Wish bled profusely from the nostrils, and Steve K. told me Mani Bhavan tried to jump the start, so the guy had to snatch her back hard, then the gate opens and she tries to rush up from the 1 hole. She has not been the same horse since the poly disaster last fall
