In a week that surely must rank as the looniest in memory, comes this absolute stunner.
If anybody can top this, give it a shot!

I\'ll pay $100 to Old Friends retirement charity, to see the two of them square off in a duel. Has to be non-lethal weapons, though.
Jamgotchian,is he certifiable? Shapiro sounds italian, I make him 4-5 in a punch out.
Mike
If the Key doesn\'t fit - you must acquit . . .
Supposedly there are 3 separate videos of the incidents.
If the allegations turn out to be true, Shapiro seems a likely candidate for a suicide watch, given the money he lost with Bernie Madoff and the probable loss of his new venture with racing\'s stakeholders in California.
At the very least he will be forced into some sort of probation that includes a \"mandated\" series of sessions with a psychologist.

Barry what else did I miss?
Can we just outlaw racing in California? It seems an appropriate first step in an industry wide 12-step recovery program.
Given the apparent extenuating and ironic circumstances , perhaps Jamgotchian could somehow try to help Shapiro and at the same time help California racing . . .
Zayat and Allen lame attempts at shutting out Rachel Alexandra didn\'t strike you as a bit eccentric?
Somebody else seems to agree with you.

I have heard over and over that Jess Jackson is a great sportsman because he raced Curlin as a 4 year-old.
I have always believed that Curlin raced as a 4 year-old because Jackson\'s partners were in jail and their ownership interest was tied up in the Phen phen court case so any sort of breeding syndication was not possible.
Am I crazy?
Good Point and maybe not.
But they did try some things that others would not. Dubai then, the Foster then Turf then Synthetics. Maybe it was where the money was but they did do it.
Man, having met Shapiro, this is really unbelievable. Yeah, all the stuff that happened may have knocked him off balance, if it\'s true.
On the big picture, the screwy thing is that racing is now looking like NASCAR, which actually will increase coverage. But it\'s hard to think of something worse for the game than if something happens to the filly in front of a national audience, now or ever.
Good point re: trying different things. Pushing the envelope (Arc) makes things a little more interesting.
The safe \"I\'m afraid to fail\" route is way too prevalent.
Absolutely could not agree with you more!! That makes at least 2 crazy ones.
