Title: Question re Thoro pattern for Thoro experts/TGJB
Post by: mcnamarj on May 07, 2009, 12:09:51 PM
Does the thoropattern look at only the pattern and not absolute numbers?
Into the Preakness last year, Big Brown\'s thoro pattern on the sheets shows Top%13, Pair%30,Off%27, and X%30.
His numbers coming into the Preakness were 8,1,-3(2),-4(3).
With a Top defined as >1 point better than the previous top, he would need a -6 for a new top, which must certainly have a <13% chance of happening.
Given other criteria being the same, would a horse with numbers of 14,7,2(2),1(1)-that is, add 6 pts to each figure for Big B, have the same number listed under Top% as Big Brown?
Thanks!
