Title: Race 13 at Churchill on Saturday
Post by: SilkySullivan on May 04, 2009, 07:55:54 AM
I bailed out a shabby day by hitting the race 12/13 double.  i thought Gloss in the 13th was the standout play of the day despite being 1st turf.  Just curious why Analysis passed on the race?  You did have the 12th.

I was all over the race too, saved me from getting crushed to actually coming out a little ahead for the day.  Here\'s my guess on why TG passed-the race was a maiden race scheduled for turf (as opposed to the stakes where they would keep them on turf unless the course was unsafe) & when the analysis was written there was no way of knowing if it was going to stay, get moved to dirt, and who would scratch out. I didn\'t even look at the race until Saturday morning after I heard it was still on turf & the weather forecast was for no more rain.  Trying to guess what surface & who would be in would have been a total guess before mid-Saturday morning.

Correct. If it had ben an 8 race card without a lot of plays I would have tried to find one. Who knew.
