Title: detention barn violation for Mullins
Post by: Pic6King on April 05, 2009, 12:51:46 PM
from DRF..............Gato Go Win was scratched due to what the stewards called a \"detention barn violation,\" though they would not elaborate. Trainer Jeff Mullins declined to comment.

Rumor is the violation was a groom was found red-handed with two syringes. Hopefully, NYRA doesn\'t sweep this under the rug.

Pretty funny, Richie.

This might explain why Mullins was so low-key in the winner\'s circle after the Wood. Other shoe, drop, etc.

\"Air Power is an over-the-counter cough formula manufactured by Finish Line. The company's website states that Air Power will stop a horse's cough all day and "that nothing manufactured and sold by Finish Line will test positive in any race or show jurisdiction. ..."

"If a horse needs Air Power to get to the finish line on race day, then we have a problem with that," Mahoney(nyswb) said. "We have one of the most aggressive drug-testing programs in the entire nation and we will continue to be aggressive in our watchdog role because of the emphasis we place on integrity."
.....

Mullins, who called all of us players idiots for betting horses has to be a total moron to go into the NY detention barn area with stuff.NY has all kinds of security, visible and not visible(some private and covert)in that area.

The fact that the stuff is supposed to be undetectable shows criminal like intent. I know the NYSWB will hang this certified scumbag if the allegations are confirmed.

Here\'s one site that advertises the product

http://www.ginnysequinesupplements.com/air_power.htm

\"Air Powerâ„¢  uses an all natural formula to stop your horse\'s cough instantly and will provide symptomatic relief for allergies, heaves, roaring, and strangles.
It will not interfere with other products or with any program coordinated through veterinarians.

When your horse\'s airways are open, more oxygen gets to the lungs, more oxygen to the red blood cells and then more oxygen to the muscles\"

Guess they don\'t want them to turn their head first before coughing while in the gate ... Best I could tell from reading the different articles was that imo a: it\'s not the job of the Detention Barn Steward to confiscate items from individuals entering upon  the area but rather to report any infractions that takes place . b: Trainers must know and abide by track rules . . .
