You\'ve probably seen the entries. Some big fields, some great races.
Bejarano, Leparoux, Desormeaux, Prado all in for the day (and by the way, Kent
has one mount on the Friday twilight card, a Dallas Stewart firster in the last
race of the day).
Marty Wolfson ships 2 in for the Saturday card, Its a Bird and Ikigai. The \"I\"s
have it. Kind of gives me flashbacks to the Brookfield Stable from NY in the
70s/80s, all of whose runners names began with \"I\", including a personal
favorite, I\'m Quite High.
2007 BC Juvie Turf winner and San Fernando winner Nownownow races in the Mervin
Muniz at 9 furlongs on turf.
Interesting La Derby runner Papa Clem, who split Pioneerof the Nile and I Want
Revenge running second in the RB Lewis. First time dirt for this son of Smart
Strike who will be ridden by Bejarano. Despite the company line, should be a
big price as he is NW2LT.
Laissez les bon temps roulet.
Richiebee,
very much agree, phenomenal card.
what did you mean by \"Despite the company line\" he should be a big price? Sorry if I am being dense and missing something obvious.
I think Papa Clem is going to be very tough here but I do note that he carried 115 lbs in RB Lewis and he will have to carry 122 here. But he should get a great trip out there on the lead and he should be plenty fit enough going from the synthetic to the dirt. First time dirt kick back shouldn\'t be an issue for him as he will be on the lead.
I will be down in the Big Easy for the races Sat, anyone else going?
Covel:
I\'m green with envy. Hope you get good weather and chance to sample some good
Cajun food.
\"Company Line\" has nothing to do with corporate policy. The fact that Papa Clem
shows the race between Pioneer and Revenge means, at least for that race, he
kept \"good company\", and will get some added attention at the windows.
While Papa is both lightly raced and unseasoned, there are only 3 SWs in this
field (Patena (WO), Terrain (Mnr) and Freisan Fire (FG)) and Papa is worth a
few shekels for me at 15/1 or above.
Papa Clem worked 3f in 33.3 at SA 2 days prior to the RB Lewis; wonder if he
will blow out at FG at the end of this week?
I bet Papa last out, and it was a tough beat. Smart Strike over Belong To Me? might be suited just a touch better for synth, but the 2nd dam ran well on dirt. at first glance, I like Flying Pegasus with JR from post 5.
we have the two takes at GP, two more at OP, the Sal Felipe from SA, and a bunch of good races from Tam and FG. nice looking Saturday of racing.
Jim-- you might be interested to know that we reviewed the FF race two back and made it faster.
interesting, thanks very much for this.
did you post this because of my comments a few weeks back or because you saw the owners names for Patena?
Either way, thanks very much
should be an interesting day on Sat.
Thanks Richie,
I would think people would play the key race angle and the same poly to dirt angle on Sat for Papa Clem that worked last weekend for IWR so I would be surprised if he goes off at those odds but it\'s a deep race (should be for 600k) so he might go off higher than he should.
See where Papa Clem blew out 3f today on the dirt training track at SA. That was interesting.
