Title: Hutch looks interesting tomorrow
Post by: covelj70 on January 29, 2009, 04:32:56 AM
Don\'t think either of the two favorites will be there at the end.

Hello Broadway is alot like his brother Nobiz was at this point on the Derby trail...not that fast.  Nobiz got good later but he was a big play against in the Derby as TG pointed out at the time. Hello Broadway is several points slower than several others in here but he gets alot of hype because of his famous older brother.  Clear play against here.

Break Water Edison looks like he could make some noise later on the trail as he put up a \"1\" in the Nashua which bodes well for the Derby itself to the extent he pairs that \"1\" sometime soon which would be a good sign of health and that would set him up well for the Derby if he gets there but I don\'t think tomorrow is his day.  1) he drew the rail and he hasn\'t run that well from the rail before, 2) reading into Kimmel\'s comments, I don\'t think he\'s completely tuned up for this race.  3) not likely that 7f is the best distance for a Lemon Drop Kid. Yes he\'s had a bunch of breezes heading into this but Kimmel seems pretty intent on him not being over the top before the Derby.  Maybe he\'s good enough to win anyway but at a short price, I am willing to take a stand against him for this one.

The play looks like Zito\'s Rocketing Returns.  He\'s fast wth paired tops, great breeding for this distance and a trainer who knows what he\'s doing this time of year.  I think he\'s the key in this one and we will likely get a better price than we should given all of the hype that Break Water and Hello Broaday are getting.

Agree on the Zito key although he\'s having another lousy GP meet.

Kinda like the Capt Candyman Can in general, but not for this spot-maybe he pops in his next stretching out a little further.

Discounting the mud mark for ZDay-plus he has to ship south with no works down there.

Race Shapes are not exactly favoring the Zito runner. Could be caught three-four wide on the turn.

Needs a good pop in here to win as others are as quick. Not a gimme.

Tagg is clicking at 4% the last 90 days.

I wonder if Coa had his choice on Hello Broadway or was he tossed? That horse seemed to find trouble in all of his starts.

He may be the sire of the best in the East and best in the West.

That was a pretty athletic win.
