Title: I'm a bit concerned..
Post by: APny on November 02, 2008, 05:34:34 PM
Ok so the big knock on Jerry\'s numbers are that horses pair up way too much and that there\'s no way a horse can repeat the same performance several times in a row.  I have always given Jerry the benefit of the doubt but to see some of the BC numbers it makes me a bit concerned especially when it comes to turf races.  Black Mamba ran a terrible race on BC day as the favorite but managed to pair his 4 while finishing 7th while 1w and I know not to just look at finishing position when handicapping, thats why the sheets are so valuable..but it does make me wonder.  Jerry..without giving out proprietary info..can you explain how this is?  I know you\'ve said before you use past numbers to make current numbers but it just seems strange to me.

BM only got beat 2 1/2 lengths (1 1/2 points at the distance), winner got 1/2 point of weight, which means she ran only one point better before ground loss. BM saved a point of ground vs. winner, so she ended up getting 2 points worse. Winner got 2 1/2, BM got 4 1/2.
