On the subject of rebates, do they return those rebates in cash? Like you bet 20k for the day and breakeven, do you somehow get 2k back. I\'ll never qualify for one, just wondering.
Rich,
The rebates are deposited into your wagering account either on a daily or weekly basis.
Many small players that I know ($500/day volume) are playing to rebate houses.
Frank
What houses are you talking about and are they reputable? Like Mall was saying, if these rebates are based on overall handle then these shops are really helping racing. Think about it, if there was a 2/5 shot and you bet 20k to win, suddenly with a 10% rebate you have made 50% return. If they do accept show betting, you can literally bet 100 races a year and make a profit of $300,000(as long as you win all the races)betting 20k/race with a 10% rebate. I say these shops are really helping racing becuase probably if it was not for the rebates you wouldn\'t bet so much. This is the opinion of CDSN. It is not the opinion of Youbet however, but with TG\'s help we are going to change the face of racing. Don\'t forget RGS pays 5% of handle to the tracks whereas most outlets pay only 3-3.5%. Obviously, they should close these hubs about 1 min. before post so the odds don\'t change much (or at the latest when the first horse enters).
Has anyone noticed any intrarae odds change at NYRA since they instituted the new policy, I have not. Sorry about being so verbose.
Maybe not intrarace and not Aqueduct, but in last Saturday\'s 9th race at GP, the last quoted exacta payout of Conservation and American Mon was $22. It came back $16.80.
I like the idea of rebates. It\'s kind of funny, I just realized the ctotb system is starting a points thing where you get points for every dollar bet. The more dollars bet the more points you get to buy things. A hat maybe, a drf, a jacket, or a thorograph, on and on. A rebate system for the small fry.
