Very interesting quote below
This track is so fast, and if the heat comes it\'ll get faster. They might run (six furlongs) down there in six (1:06) and change. The thing is they don\'t know how to slow it down right now. If they put water in it, it compacts it and makes it harder. It winds up like adobe. I don\'t think that First Defence will run in six, but someone might.\"
—Frankel on the potential for a blazing final time in the Sprint (G1), in which he\'ll saddle FIRST DEFENCE (Unbridled\'s Song)
It has played super fast all meet, almost like SA last winter.
It seems like, too, that you have to pretty much be on or near the lead pressing to the pace to have much of a chance on this track (at least recently). Even with fast fractions, it seems to be pretty hard to close. I guess we\'ll see in a few hours. I personally hope they don\'t do anything to \"soup-up\" the track for the big days as I think it might make the track dangerously fast. I\'m kind of holding my breath a little for the Turf Sprint tomorrow hoping that they all come back safe...
had the sheets from yesterday. must say they ran true to form froom the numbers and patterns.
last race was really cool as the 13 horse had a top top top and a line that looked great. however if you read the stats it had minimal chances to repeat or a top.
the 5 looked much better after thos e stats
thanks
