First, off, thank you to Thorograph for this innovation. I have been a customer of this new product and have enjoyed it a lot.
I do have a few questions I would like to ask about the Race Shapes. Please do not take this as criticism. The product is great and this is just an attempt to get the most out of it and understand it better. Thanks in advance.
Questions --
1) According to the description, the quarter mile times are adjusted for \"track speed, wind, weight,[sic] carried, and ground loss, if any\". I had thought that the raw times would also be adjusted for run ups. Since run ups are so variable and have a huge impact on the quarter mile time, I would think this is a real important factor and the raw times would be adjusted for it.
2) After every quarter mile time, there is an \"s\". Does that \"s\" mean seconds? If not, what does it mean? is there ever a different symbol placed in the sport where the \"s\" is?
The \"s\" means seconds.
For the most part, runups are not that variable for the same distance at the same track, which is what we are working with-- they are in efect built into the adjustment we make for each. The exception would be something like the different turf rails at Belmont, which affects the runups in some cases (when there is a limit to how much room they have to go back in the chute). We are starting some fine tuning on the Race Shapes, they should be even better when we are done.
Why can\'t you give TG figs instead of times on the Race Shapes.....just assume the race is over at 1/4 pole???
This would be a hellofalot more useful in conjunction with the final TG figs than adjusted times.
Pace figures are a whole different thing. We are trying to show people (as in visually) the way the race sets up. If you have seen the RS you know what we mean. For me, this is the only way they are useful.
