Title: Curlin in the BC Classic
Post by: Silver Charm on September 02, 2008, 07:26:16 AM
Sounds like they are entertaining these thoughts. Where to prep is a big issue.

By running in the Jockey Club and assuming they win there would be a historical element of stardom he would be achieving with back-to-back wins.

By running in the Goodwood they would find out of they can handle the Synthetic but at the same time must deal with several pea-shooters like Go Between who would love their chance to take him on if he is not at his best on the new surface.

However if he runs in either and wins and then wins the BC Classic he stamps himself as one of the all-time greats. No matter how much you spend you can\'t buy yourself a place in history.........

Silver:

I\'ve heard that the Curlin people have been talking to the suits at Santa Anita.

First question that comes to mind; can a skilled track maintennance crew get the Santa Anita \"synthethic\" as close to acting like dirt as does say, Hollywood\'s cushion?

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Well if SPECTRE (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) can get Monmouth to write them races, the Curlin camp surely can ask for a little forgiving track maintenance.
