Naughty New Yorker...0/4 @ Belmont...never in the money @ Belmont at this distance.  But clearly the fastest.  Toss him as the fav?  If so, who else?  Stud Muffin?

Shan..

Not trying to be a smartass, but it\'s Evan Shipman, the brilliant Morning Telegraph writer and poet who was a close friend of Hemingway and one of the few inner circle subjects in \'A Movable Feast\' treated warmly. Shipman\'s work is most easily accessible in pre-1950 editions of the American Racing Manual where he preceded Charles Hatton as lead biographer of \'Horses of the Year\' and \'The Year in Review\'. Not only was Shipman around for the Golden Era of Sports, his race writing, and of course Hatton\'s, represents a bygone golden era.
