While watching a replay of the Belmont Stakes, a feeling a deja vu suddenly came over me. I could have easily been watching War Pass at Tampa earlier this year.
Both were super hyped, looked like top notch horses, and were spotted in very weak fields where they were expected to win.
Both got roughed up a little early in the race.
Both were put in a stalking position on the outside, but came up totally empty when asked.
Both were eased when hopelessly beaten.
War Pass came right back with a huge race in the Wood Memorial.
