Title: Right On Jerry, But?
Post by: alm on June 07, 2008, 05:35:58 PM
I bet Jerry in this one and watched my super come in 2, 3, 4, 5.

I felt like chewing on a rock.

Da\' Tara??????

Afraid that being right about a knock, and cashing are mutually exclusive.

The only way to cash for sure if you are right and betting AGAINST a horse, is to BET \'EM ALL.  No short cuts, no throw outs, ALL.

Learned that the hard way many year ago.

Yeah, it\'s gonna take me a while to get over this one. That horse doesn\'t jump up, I don\'t even know how much I take down.

>Zito\'s an awfully nice guy and an awfully lucky trainer.....<

I\'m playing the horses for over 30 years and I seriously can\'t recall ever cashing a bet on him, but I can recall him beating me with horses I didn\'t even consider lots of times. ;-)

I never much cared for the guy as a trainer overall, but he sure does get them ready to run in this race:

16 runners since 1992 and he\'s finished in the super with 10 of them-many looking very slow, long odds and in horrible form going in.He\'s won it twice-been in the exacta 4 times-the tri twice and at the bottom of the super twice.

4 tops-3 of them jumping up assuming Da Tara
4 pairs-guessing Anak Nakal
5 off
3 x

His runners seem to enjoy training up at Saratoga prior to this race.I listened to some on here and played some saver pk 4\'s-was live to three others besides BB.Used the wrong Zito horse,Dennis a few times and Icabad who didn\'t run an inch.

It wasn\'t a complete shocker if BB wasn\'t going to pick his feet up-which he didn\'t.Live trainer on history-and no pace in the race other than Da Tara on a track that seemed to favor speed. The horse chasing wanted no parts of that distance-evident from every two turn race he\'s run in-always slow coming home.

Moral of the story-use ALL Zito\'s in this race.

Dennis of Cork is gonna be okay.Honest to hot pace and he\'ll win some races down the line.

Tough to compare this one with any of Zito\'s other Belmont Stakes accomplishements.

Birdstone was a Grade 1 winner prior to upsetting Smarty Jones. He then went on to win the Travers. I\'ll go on record and say this horse never wins another race.

It would not suprise me to find out it was La Penta\'s decision to run and not Zito\'s. Zito was excited about Anak Nakal\'s chances (kept saying he was 7th not 17th). Putting Alan Garcia on DaTara certainly wasn\'t going to demand a second look.

Well,it\'s a Sunday and my sermon is that this guy keeps looking up at the sky and thanking God and I\'m thinking perhaps we should all start trying it!

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I want to give all those credit for knocking BB and his pattern of regression.  I tried to beat him in the derby, thinking the -3.5 would cause a bounce. I hit a saver tri that saved me.  Watched the Preakness. I was all in on the pick 4 and had a good Belmont Double ticket Friday of 2/all.  I was so excited I forget to box the super in the 12th and I had these numbers written on my scratch pad 3/5/9/12/2, $900+.  Thanks everyone.  In the case of Da Tara he had paired up 3\'s. I liked him better than AN.  I\'ve cashed a lot of bets on young horses with improving pairs.  I could not throw him out and use AN, a one number horse.  Thanks JB for the product and the board.

TGJB..  With that final time, Did Da\'Tara actually jump up?!?  or did everybody else just go backwards?

I hear you Jerry.  Soooo close....

I was alive in the pick 6 to DC,AN,MA and had a $10 pick 4 live to the same 3.

The super with BB became unplayable to me after CD scratched, but I punched out a flyer on 3,4,8/3,4,8/all/all in case something happened to BB.  When I saw the half mile time come up in 48 + change (which I thought would be too fast for Da Tara) and BB not responding on the turn I thought I was about to make a killing.  AN was right there and DC was moving.  Gawdddddddddddddd....... how does the 6 keep going?  Was that a tractor rut he was running in?

No way I would have come up with DT on top unless I hit the all button.  Just no way....

Only thing I hit all day was $1500 to win on Zaftig and that wasn\'t enough...

Best game on earth...
