Title: Truth is Strange Than Fiction
Post by: Barry Irwin on May 30, 2008, 08:04:14 PM
Your wife buys a novel at a used book store, brings it home and you start reading this stuff. In all likelihood, you would toss it after afew pages, because it lacked plausibility.

Some boiler room guys posing as Wall Street investment bankers buy a horse for $3 million after it wins a grass maiden router at Saratoga, even though the colt is by a sprinter.

The following winter, the colt is entered to run on the grass in an allowance race at Gulfstream Park. When the race comes off the grass, the connections decide \"what the hell\" and run it anyway. The colt romps.

They run him back in the Florida Derby on dirt and he wins.

Then he wins the Kentucky Derby. These guys had the Derby winner in their barn all along and thought he was a grass horse for Godsakes alive!

Then he wins the Preakness.

Come on for chrissakes! Stuff like this doesn\'t happen in real life. Who wrote this crap anyway?

You toss the book in the trash and yell at your wife for wasting money at a time when gas if $4 a gallon!
