Title: why no figure??
Post by: 4singles2all on November 01, 2002, 09:32:39 AM
why is there no figure for the 14th race at TP on 9/14?? i called the office and was told, and i quote -\'there is no number. it is just a square box.\' there have been TWO WINNERS from that race at KEE and still no figure.

i know how important it is to all of us to have the raggie flaws pointed out ad nauseam, and wallow in self congratulation, but once in a while we do need to get proper numbers for a race.

\'hey, did anyone notice how lenny friedman didn\'t switch leads properly when he went to the window at saratoga on september 1st, just before the 6th race??

I didn\'t do figures because there wasn\'t enough information available to make figures with confidence-- I don\'t guess. The race in question was loaded with first time starters and second outs, it was the last race of the day (which often has a different variant), the previous race was 2 turns, the track was changing speed earlier-- and if you used the variant for the previous sprint, the ones who had already run would get huge jump-ups, so there was no figure base to tie it to, and no race following to check it against. Not only would a guess have misled you, but it would have misled me when I did future days using the figures horses in that race ran as a base.
