PETA once petitioned the State of New York to change the name of the Town of Fishkill because its name somehow suggests cruelty to animals. PETA did not know, however, that the word \"kill\" means stream in Dutch. The early settlers were simply naming a town for a nearby stream that was well stocked with fish.
Similarly, PETA now wants to ban a jockey because he may have urged on a horse that was breaking down. Again, PETA shows its profound ignorance. With 18 horses behind him, the jockey would have to be suicidal to encourage a stricken animal.
My only question is why the media and others pay any attentioin to this radical group.
