Title: Oaklawn Park Race 9 tomorrow..
Post by: Lost Cause on April 08, 2008, 08:39:29 AM
Oaklawn and Keeneland have stakes races everyday this week.
Let\'s start off tomorrow and build money for the bankroll this weekend...

Larry Jones has two horses in Oaklawn\'s 9th, the 3 and the 5 that look like the only two horses that can show speed.  The biggest plus is that they might not be the favorite (Asmussen\'s horse in the M/L favorite) and they have some of the best numbers in the race...Huge Exacta Box on the 3 and the 5 tomorrow..I also think a win bet on the 3 is also in order as she will be the one leading the way and she has turned into a very good horse in her last two.....

Keeneland\'s stake race (#8) is interesting with a couple of them looking good..2,4,9,10,11..Hard to figure Poly though so i\'ll box in Exactas, tri\'s and supers and make a win bet on the 2, 4 or 9 depending on the odds..Especially intrigued by the #9 as Shug seems to have a good one on his hands.

Good Luck

Go get them

the Kee race is a good one. I\'m not sure you can make a pick without seeing the odds. they have Ventura 6-1 ml, and I don\'t think that\'s going to hold. last was a workout - not sure how good she is.

Wild Gams looks interesting. have a feeling her punch is more effective going 6f, but she gets in light, and gets a perfect post. \'2.5\' to \'3\' might be good enough with an inside trip.

Carriage Trail could be competitive. \'3\' top last year on dirt. a \'2\' to \'3\' is possible, but you have trip risk from post 9.

the 10 and 11 also fit if they break, but valuable energy will be expended from the outside

at the big KNLD, I\'m boxing 1,4,7 in the stakes.  probably box them as a tri also..

At Oaklawn, hopefully the mesa flight will go tomorrow (always an iffy proposition), I can\'t narrow it any further than a 4 hrs for a solid tri, keying vicarango on top...it would be 6/3,5/1,3,5,6,7

Good call on Ventura..I will not give out another Polytrack selection again..Not that i\'m going to stop playing it (there is too much money paying out at Keeneland), I just need to reassess my handicapping..The biggest mistake I keep making is that turf horses can run just as well on that surface..The first two finishers yesterday were both turf horses..

If anyone has any tips on playing the surface please feel free to pass them along.

Ventura opened at 9/5, and I didn\'t bet the race. Probably better, as I didn\'t like the 8 at all, and had the 5 as a light use.

I\'m still playing the poly like turf, and the cushion as an in between surface.
