Title: Zanjero
Post by: Silver Charm on March 07, 2008, 08:10:34 PM
Not ready to hand this Oaklawn race to him like others are. Was a fan of this horse last year and it was good to see him get good late last year.

But that was last year and last year was a long time ago. Five months to be exact for a horse who is not exactly training consistently excessively fast and who has always had a tendency to loaf.

Think he needs one.

Looking elsewhere.

I think Zanjero will most likely be the best horse in a few months, but he could be a tad short today. Whether that gets him beat or not is another question, but I also think it\'s at least reasonable to believe that Racketeer is better on dirt than synthetic and could run an improved race today.

The scratch of Spotsgone has certainly changed the pace scenario of this race.
