Title: Revolutionize the way equine performance is measured?
Post by: derby1592 on October 02, 2002, 08:03:22 PM
My previous post on this topic did not elicit much of a response but I thought I would still post another related link.

Imagine precise measures of final time, ground loss and even peak velocity and acceleration for all the horses in every race and even every morning workout.

Think about how this could improve figure making, including pace figures and even energy distribution ratings, etc.

This technology has the potential to revolutionize the way equine peformance is measured on the race track but it may never get implemented for a variety of reasons.

Interesting stuff.

Chris,
I guess it\'s only a matter of time before we see progress. Looks like the technology division at Sha Tin will be giving out fractional MPH speeds before we see them here in the U.S. though. (I imagine the Dubai dudes will be right there as well, assuming oil hangs in around $30)

Chris,
Did your original post have a different link on the subject, or were you referring to the same Bloodhorse article here?
