Title: Gulfstream Turf
Post by: dodie on January 06, 2008, 08:14:12 PM
JB/Alan,

Gulfstream\'s turf course is as wide as two turf courses and the position of the temporary rail is critical. The rail is placed in 12-foot increments out to 84 feet, essentially giving us 8 turf courses. Here are my questions:
1. How does Gulfstream modify the position of the gate to account for rail position?
2. How do they modify the position of fractional timers?
3. With TG handtiming the races, how big a difference do you find between your times and the \"official\" times?
I\'d think they\'d modify the gate position to account for the varying rail position and resulting distance changes. I doubt they do anything about changing the location of the fractional timers. I\'m hoping that your able to catch some pretty significant time discrepancies and we can capitalize when they\'re reflected in the figures.
Thanks.
