Title: Quarter Horse Racing at Santa Anita
Post by: Silver Charm on January 06, 2008, 10:53:42 AM
The Great Race Place has probably reached a new low (or perhaps another is coming) with yesterdays drainage cancellation and todays reopening with most races now being carded at 5 1/2 furlongs.

At least the Track Super staff there has been candid about the situation and admitted to mistakes and frustration in trying to correct things, albeit unsuccessfully. This is in direct contrast to Del Mar President Joe Harper who ran an entire meet that resembled Mule Racing and called it a \"great success\".

So the two premier tracks in California are now producing Mule Racing and Quarter Horse Racing in an effort to extend the longevity and safety of Thoroughbred Racing.

Go Figure.....................

Yes, but artificial surfaces are the future of horseracing. Michael Dickinson said so.

Go to the Left At The Gate blog before you even bother telling me Tapeta is the answer.

Dickinson, now there is reliable source. How has he been doing since the heavier testing policies have begun to be implemented.

Lets get he and Bianconne, who by the way is only four months away from when he will begin roaming backstretchs again, and have them form some sort of advisory panel together with all the major tracks.

How to screw up your racing surface and how to drug your horses and only get caught once every five years, get a six month vacation and be back up and running with a full book of business immediately.
