Title: Hol R2 Starzig- son of Danzig
Post by: NoCarolinaTony on December 22, 2007, 05:45:36 AM
Was looking at this first timer son of Danzig and see that Danzig as a Sire has dropped 24% First Timers out of 283 runners. For Danzig I thought this is kind of low figure for total FTers. Then I go to look at total runners and see he has a total of only 349 horses run.

Then I start thinking well, Gee he had 349 runners run, but only has 283 were FT starters, so was trying to figure out how you can have runners run without running for the first time?

Think the figure is quite low for total starters for a sire such as Danzig. Love the 24% FT stat, but am thinking somethings not right here.

Alan,

Regardless of where a horse start it\'s career, they still have a first start, no? Happy Holidays to you, Jerry and the TG team.

Of course, but we only count starts in North America.

Perhaps some jurisdictions count as 1st time if the Mare runs in foal -  shouldn\'t that pay the exactca if she wins or be considered a coupled entry ...
( drum roll please ! )

Happy Holidays !!!!!!!!
