Title: f&M turf
Post by: Michael D. on October 25, 2007, 03:20:09 PM
Precious Kitten is tempting. a near replica of Intercontinental, the Frankel/Bejarano filly who stole this race over the off going two years ago. nobody thought she would get the distance, and nobody thought she would handle the turf. paid $32.20

I think I\'m going with Danzon though, ml 12-1. has a decent fig over the off going ag the boys back in May (on short rest). last two turf races were over very firm turf. last on poly wasn\'t bad. nice timing here.

Michael D., it\'s important that Intercontinental won the race at the 1 1/4 distance, not the 1 3/8 Precious Kitten will be running on Saturday.

I had the two fillies that would have run by her if the race were a furlong longer.

I agree, the extra 1/8 is a big difference.

Passage of Time is another interesting filly here. gets the 5 lbs and  gets a nice post. could be ready to run huge for Juddmonte.

At Belmont BC 05 the off turf seemed to be very speed favoring, fwiw.

The other Frankel mare this year Argentina, looks like a replica of his first FMTurf winner Starine. Both lightly raced 5yr olds that prepped in the Flower Bowl with hidden fig wide trips, with the soft going a plus for both. I hope Kent doesn\'t do something crazy, LOL

Intercontinental, was a full sister to Banks Hill who won this race a couple of years earlier. So at least she was bred to get the distance, even though she had never raced it.

I\'m Keying Argentia in this race and boxing her with several, mainly Wait a While. I think WAW is going to run a big race. In fact - I love Gomez\' mounts. He should have a really big day.

Another big day for Gomez tomorrow.

He and Ron Anderson are loaded this year.

from drf.com...

Wait a While, last year\'s champion 3-year-old filly, so dislikes soft ground that trainer Todd Pletcher is considering scratching should he deem the turf too soft on Saturday.

\"I don\'t like what I\'m seeing,\" Pletcher said at an indoor press conference Wednesday while showers were falling outside. \"She\'s a firm-turf specialist. We\'ll wait till race day to decide whether it\'s worth trying turf that\'s not to her liking or we scratch and maybe go to something else.\"

I keep forgetting its rainy and crappy in Joisey. Soft turf and speed favoring slop. Gonna be a very boring day. Barf
