can\'t remember a race with so many ugly looking patterns from so many fast horses.
Corinthian is the only one who looks set to run his best (a small new top), but he\'s not all that fast.
which of the ouchy sheets looks best? I would say Discreet Cat\'s, but you\'re looking at very low odds on this guy.
law of averages says one of the fast ones will pop and beat Corinthian, but I can\'t find a better value horse at the moment.
The only Dirt Mile Race there is that matters is the Met. This would probably be Hard Spuns race to lose if they went in here but there is no glory here. Who can blame them for going for the gold in the Classic.
Also if you win this one do you win the Sprint title? Doubt it. So why go here, you need to go in the Sprint. Look where Midnight Lute landed.
Having said that Discreet Cat needed his last and lays all over these.
If Sound.................

I played against him in his last under the assumption that a Grade 1 field was too tough a spot to come back off that long a layoff with so many question marks about him. However, I actually expected a better effort than he gave. IMO, he was far enough off his best form that day to consider the possibility that he still won\'t be 100% for the BC even if he is sound and otherwise doing well.
Can he win if he\'s 95%?
Possibly.
That\'s a problem though.
It\'s tougher to throw him out and almost impossible to take a short price.
