How much crap can one board suffer?
Now, that again is funny! I appreciate all your insights, as I\'m sure girly does. And spa, I can see your point. And Richie and D-Pub, the track serves the purpose of getting the game in your soul, I think, in the beginning. But when you don\'t have a clue, it breaks your heart pretty quickly. Then you decide to learn. That\'s what happened to me.
Anyway I\'ve been down the hall in the intro room and didn\'t want to chime in until I could \"add value\" and I do look forward to this site giving great info on who is most likely to win, come BC time.
Nothing like horsemen, that\'s for sure. Enjoy Belmont, people, and WIN !!
Begin with the Race of the Week. Focus on that race for 6 months and you\'ll learn more than a lifetime of bull---t from red boarders. The idea is pick winners.............bombs away!
Now that was funny! I can say Amen to richiebee too.. though since Saratoga is over I won\'t be at a track for awhile. What\'s the weekend going to bring for an interesting race?
Good advice- Thorograph is a tool, you are left to make your own decisions. I like to remember that the best handicappers in the country run around 30% or less success rate generally speaking. I\'d love to hear people\'s views on why they think a particular horse or parley in a race is their choice- I think being able to hear those types of discussions would be a great education.
By the way, I have a Master\'s degree in clinical psychology. Just because I don\'t know about handicapping doesn\'t mean I\'m ditzy- but I can laugh at myself unlike some- CucCoo CuCoo!
I have 5 degrees..........
Do you agree with marcus who said
I\'ve been told there\'s no such thing as \"Give-Away\" Day at the track but IMO the late P-4 potentially shapes up to be a P-2 w/ Rags in the Distaff and LR in the Classic .
marcus
Do we know who Rags is up against yet?
Girly..If anything it is a classic example of what not to do when handicapping..Never assume anything until you see who they are running against along with Post Postion and Race setup (lone speed at Monmouth is dangerous)...
R2R and Lawyer Ron look great now but any horse is beatable given the right scenarios..
Girly-- if you are trolling this place to pick up clients for your practice, you have hit the mother lode.
Sandie-- when I pointed you to the Intro section, it was only specific to the terms \"figures\" and \"numbers\" as used here. I wasn\'t suggesting you should keep quiet until you were a pro level handicapper. If that were the criteria, it would apply to many others as well.
Spa-- I am proud that this board has become the most sophisticated read in the industry, and even prouder that we have people who care about and are trying to stop the drug problem. It\'s not just about picking winners.
You all are so funny- I couldn\'t help laughing at my desk -thank you TGJB and Lost Cause- of course it\'s best to wait until the field is set and you know what the conditions are- or any last minute changes.
thnx, TGJB, I didn\'t want to speak nonsense, so I played it safe. The intro is quite informative. I do thank spa for his input yesterday. After reading girly\'s Peter, Paul and Mary lyrics, and being so touched, I was darn close to writing a small dissertation on \"Why I love horseracing\" !! After I read spa\'s post, I thought better of it, lucky for all of you. Glad the board is back on track. I do look forward to writing when I have more \"in depth\" rather than \"inept\" questions.

One other thing. Girly, glad you are a therapist. Love that !! Barry Irwin, \"Mr. Team Valor\" and a great journalist. We are an eclectic group, and to put it succinctly, that\'s why I love horseracing, the people it draws and the gamut of feeling it evokes. Very glad I found your site, TGJB and TGAB. If anyone gets off track (like I just did) from handicapping or drug use issues: I say suspension from the board for a week !! Now back to handicapping Belmont Park !!
