This may be ho hum to those of you with more knowledge of the backstretch than I have, but I found the following paragraphs from Tuesday\'s San Diego Union-Tribune interesting:
Trainer Michael Machowsky has withdrawn his protest of Friday\'s $107,200 Real Good Deal Stakes race after initially alleging that at least one other horse besides his own had received impermissible therapeutic medication before the race.
Machowsky\'s horse, Earnednevergiven, was scratched from the race after it was caught being administered a cough medicine – a rules violation on race day. Machowsky protested Saturday with a letter that stated, "I was required to scratch my horse, while others were allowed to race and earn purse money."
He said they were allowed to be medicated before the race with Vicks VapoRub and similar medication.

Interesting,
Vicks and robitussin
Bronchodialators is my guess.
There will always be those that cheat and while doing so consider themselves \"horsemen\".
In Florida Frank Passero use to come down from Canada and \"train\" lights out at Gulfstream. They caught his help rubbing pepper ointment on the genitals of his entries pre race. He faded off into the sunset and Sneeky Peek stepped into his shoes and is on a training title run there.
Of course, Passero had the best horses and best help though.

Chuck,
No wonder you are involved in politics, where half fact/truth is prevalent.Firstly,Frank Passero was dropping claimers in half that were off at very short odds and he was using chili pepper on the jewels.Secondly, he did not have a \"barn\" of expensive runners( like TAP) and thirdly, he did not have the capital,or help that TAP has, not even in the same area code.
Chuck, I\'m surprised you drank the conspiracy kool aid re the white mercedes,/Pletcher Allday et al, I know you are brighter than the conspiracy idiots.Waiting for one of the idiots to post on Bill Mott as he must be cheating to have horse after horse running holes in the wind at the SPA.
Mike
P.S.Lee Harvey Oswald was rumored to have Alldays telephone number when he was caught.
I remember the skier Alan Baxter got his Olympic medal taken off him because he bought and used an american Vicks Sinex which contains methamphetamine (the drug he failed on). He was used to buying the british Vicks Sinex which doesn\'t contain this ingredient, thinking they were identical products.
With the Plech barn we are not talking about a conspiracy.
I\'m also smart enough to Know that Oswald acted alone and that Sneaky Peek isn\'t nearly as self sufficient.
