Title: Deepest 3 yr old crop?
Post by: ronwar on August 07, 2007, 12:53:45 PM
Is this the deepest 3 yr old crop we\'ve had in sometime, top to bottom?  If not, maybe it is just the soundest (knock on wood).  It is August no TC winners have been retired yet and some contenders have come back to run big. Any thoughts?

It might be the soundest group we\'ve had in awhile, but last year\'s 3YOs were better. We had solid routers, sprinters, and turfers.

If you count the three year old fillies this group wins by a mile.

Bernardini, Discreet Cat, Barbaro, Bluegrass Cat

Henny Hughes, Too Much Bling

Showing Up

Pine Island/Bushfire

Rags to Riches looks pretty special, but other than that I\'d take last year\'s group.

Yes certainly.

I would take Bernardini, Discreet Cat, and Barbaro over any of this year\'s 3YOs. I think that was one of the best threesomes in the last 30 years.

I haven\'t seen any 3YO sprinters I\'d take over Henny Hughes yet (as long as he gets a clean trip, unlike the BC when he got killed at the start)

I think Showing Up fits well with or was better than any of the 3YO turfers from this year.

However, Rags to Riches blows away last year\'s fillies.
