Title: USE GUT SENSE FOR STREET SENSE
Post by: Flighted Iron on April 12, 2007, 07:32:57 PM
Consider SS\'s 1st start back after 4+ months.Denied AGS on his best day and TG#\'s
will confirm this.Consider the fact SS is older and stronger than last fall.
Consider the possibility of SS pairing his zero in the Blue Grass whether he
wins or not.I don\'t know what all of your guts are saying, but my gut is grumbling
with a negative deuce.

Yeah,Yeah,Yeah.Blah,Blah,Blah.Enough of SS.Well, like it or not, this horse could be
any kind.Heck, ask JB how many 2year olds have run a neg 2?Search the archives
section of this site and look at the sheets of last years derby.SS will gallop
by 3 in the BG,probably receive a 0 or neg 1/2 and then I DARE the betting
public to give me 3-1.Heck,I\'ll give you the exacta right now.Gigantic SS over CQ
,reverse just in case SS gets hung up in traffic. The triple?(no brainer)SS,CQ,ALL
CQ,SS,all.   OUT!

Circular Quay? Skipping the Wood to take eight weeks heading into the Derby without a 9 mark test?

Be my guest and commit all you bets to him in 1st or second.

While it is clear Street Sense is head and shoulders the best colt, I would tread lightly in the Bluegrass, especially at even money or so.

After placing in the Chicago race last September,  Carl shipped \'Sense to Keeneland for a work before contesting the Futurity.  He worked a nothing half (Sept. 29) then made a huge move in the Futurity (Oct 7) before finishing third.  After the work, and after the race, both Carl and Calvin stated that \'Sense did not like the track!

Altough the connections \"would love to win the Bluegrass\" this is indeed a prep race.  He may win because he is the best horse but to me there is a caution light blinking.  BBB

I\'m hoping and praying for a repeat of the Breeder\'s Futurity last fall in tomorrow\'s Blue Grass. GH wins, SS plods home under wraps - Calvin and Nfazger sheepishly grinning.

May 5th - SS will crush in a FuPeg-esque performance at 4-1 if my above scenario plays out.

Or I could get hit by a bus tomorrow

I must agree it is quite tempting to take those odds, however there are so many
things that happen to a horse to prevent it from making the derby.I\'d be slightly chapped if I bought odds and he never made it to post.

I love the part about the sheepish grins! I feel SS is the real deal and if he
happens to not get there today, well all the better for us.1/2 for the TBD,
hopefully a zero or neg 1/2 getting beat today, and neg 1-2 for Derby day.

Street Sense is very lukewarm now.

9-5 odds, sitting there like a big carrot on the stick.

Go get it.
