Title: Lava Man & Super Frolic
Post by: jwmjr23 on April 01, 2007, 07:02:32 PM
Horses always run their fastest figs against week competition. IMO Lava Man had no excuse in the Classic, he ran terrible. As far as Super Frolic goes, forget the figs, he is a borderline  stakes horse that was way overated by Thorograph.

He did have an excuse in the Classic.

The pace was fast and he was promting it wide on the worst part of the racetrack. Even if he was as good as Bernardini and Invasor, he was not going to beat them that day with that trip. Had the pace and track been perfectly honest though, he would have lost anyway, but not nearly as badly.

Buying Frolic was a great move by what seems to be a very small window of opportunity in picking out older, somewhat ouchy horses.
Venture over to Team Valor and see where smart money goes when you have the financial backing readily available.
Please don\'t tell me you are from another board...the other board isn\'t common.
