Post by: high roller on March 19, 2007, 12:30:25 PM
i was just curious, street sense got a nice rail skimming trip, buy saturday didn\'t have a bad trip either, would the board guess that street sense saved about one full point?

Jerry can correct me on this, but AGS was 3-4 wide on the turn. That\'s about 2-3 lengths, which at 8.5 furlongs is worth a little over 1 point.

However SS could be expected to improve another point or 2 in his next couple of starts after the lay-off - especially since Nafzger didn\'t have him fully cranked.

It\'s also possible that even if AGS had not gone wide and come at SS with a bit more gas in the tank, SS might have just refused to let him pass and run another point better. Of course that one is a lot more speculative than the first 2.
