Title: The Pletcher Posse-Could the Derby Outcome be Fixed?
Post by: Silver Charm on March 19, 2007, 11:57:49 AM
Assuming I am not the only person who seems to believe Street Sense will come out of the Tampa Race and be able to swallow an oat or even stand in less than a month as most broadcasters seem to believe.

Could Todd Pletcher be in a postion to significantly alter the outcome of the Kentucky Derby by ordering all twelve of his riders to put Street Sense in a box and not to let him out under any circumstances?

To form a rail tight wall turning for home so wide that Street Sense will have to briefly enter Central Avenue to get around?

To choose two Post Positions inside and out of Street Sense with his two longest shots and turn Street Sense into a crushed grape when the gate opens?

What assurances do I have when the Stud Value of the winner is $25 Million minimum?

Just a thought.......

Silver,

Assuming Pletcher has 7 in there, we know for sure that six will lose and with his derby record, maybe all 7. Most interesting is that Cordero and Johnny V have not finally decided which horse to ride. I did hear their least favorite candidate is Scat Daddy and they lean to Circular Quay and Any Given Sat(right now).I think Garret Gomez would ride Cir Quay better than Johnny V.

I wonder how the owners put up with not knowing who will ride their horse with only 6+ weeks to go.
