Title: Polytrack
Post by: ditz on February 25, 2007, 05:17:58 AM
I believe a polytrack should be considered, but I definitely feel a well maintained dirt track is the best surface, here in NY.If any have the opportunity to be at Belmont ,and or Aqueduct during morning training hours, you would see first hand what is major cause of most breakdowns..That would be sore horses.Actually crippled horses..Its so obvious to all standing in booth during am that you say to yourself ,how do these horses win in the afternoon.Thats when the medication theory comes in..I believe horses need to be vetted out more carefully in the a.m.,and the track itself needs to be better maintained,as does the entire grounds of Aqueduct.

I wrote the first line of this reply, then stopped thinking altogether.

First, I will refrain from using superfluous metaphors in future discussions on Polytraq. Instead I will implement more salient comparisons such as Faulkner\'s Yoknapatawpha County, space travel and sunbathing.

I see you are jealous that I have cashed every Grade 1 exacta since Columbus set sail, so I\'ll push your rant aside now for faint hope that you will someday appreciate my limitless knowledge of horseracing. And just about everything else.

I\'m on a roll this weekend - would be better if Fox News and the GOP didn\'t conspire to kill my Pick 4 ticket at SA yesterday - so I\'ll get back to handicapping.

Your friend,

CTC

Have you ever read The Myth of Sisyphus by Camus, in which he defines the human condition as basically meaningless. Camus argued that humanity had to resign itself to recognizing that a fully satisfying rational explanation of the universe was beyond its reach; in that sense, the world must ultimately be seen as absurd.

Most if not all of your posts should be categorized as writings of the absurd.

I\'d say bring back Class, and bag this pompous idiot instead.

Tony, I haven\'t read much Greek mythology and I\'ve read even less fiction/commentary upon Greek mythology. To me that is an inefficient allocation of time. I\'m big upon understanding though. Big upon definitions. Big upon distinctions and subtleties. There was an ancient goofy school of thought that said the universe was absurd to humans because they couldn\'t ascertain sufficient order in it. That said, I\'ve never heard anyone say the unique galatic absurdity trickles down to humans or human endeavors. Maybe your friend Camus was very confused. He wasn\'t one of the originals after all. Of course now we have science and T-graph to bring order to our endeavors even if one really thought absurdity  applied to us in earlier times.

Tony, if you\'re the one confused. If you\'re wagering upon polystrack and getting your hat handed to you, you\'re in the right place. The host here takes chaos and brings order to it. My advice with Polywagers is \"Just say No\", but if you can\'t help yourself, he can begin to help you.

P.S. Also, dont\' bet on Channing Hill unless you\'re getting great odds and hes sitting on a lot of horse.

Barn areas at NYRA tracks are always supposed to be closed except for credentialed owners/trainers.

Go to Belmont, you\'ll see more horses breeze in the morning from a better facility in the clubhouse.
