I was surprised to see a six furlong sprint race at Hollywood last week finish in 1:077...The quickest time on the cushion or poly I\'d seen before that was in the high 1:09 range. The slugs at Turfway routinely turn in 1:14 times for 6f...

I love seeing the finishes on the new track at Hollywood and Keeneland. It\'s so bizzare to see horses 5-6 lengths behind at the 1/8th pole actually get up at the wire. You\'ve simply never seen thart in Cal racing or in Lexington...I saw a horse a few Friday night\'s ago close 12 lengths in an 1/8th of a mile. I had P Val on a filly named Accrue and was home safe but here came Nakatani and nailed me...
