Title: payout: Sunday 4th race at Saratoga
Post by: 1st time lasix on August 28, 2006, 12:13:32 PM
Thought I hit a nice overlay in a large field. 4-1 on top....17-1 in the middle...5-1 third. With the top two choices off the ticket....I was expecting at least $900 from the tri.{ possibly a \"signer\"}. Came in at just $386. The tables say the exacta should have neen near $190. It was less than $80. I was stunned. Makes you stop and wonder.

 1) It was a weak betting pattern. ie, no real chalk, just money all over the place

 2) Yes, the payoffs sucked, look at the Q, paid almost as much as the Exacta.

 3) There are many lowball payoffs every day.  The VAST majority lose.

 4)  Sometimes the boys bet too much on the winning combo.
