This troubles me. Who\'s behind the anti-lobby that\'s responsible for this travesty of justice?

Speaking of the War on Gambling, one of the tellers at Del Mar told me yesterday that they now have a new set of forms from the Department of Justice that have to be completed for bettors of $10,000 and above...I assume it is a derivative of the $10,000 cash bank deposits, but the track is not exactly a depository account.

Anybody know anything about this - like its origin and/or derivation?

DD -

This sounds like the Form 8300s that NYRA got chastised for not filing a few years ago.  The filing is an anti-money-laundering requirement that is broadly applicable to businesses that receive $10,000 or more in cash in a single transaction or series of related transactions.

thanks...I thought it had something to do with money laundering, but didn\'t know if this was that same form (which the teller would have known about) or something new as he indicated.

So if they shut down all the poker sites, does that mean that all those wise guys have to come back to a real game, like betting horses?
