Title: Early 2yo figures
Post by: ronwar on June 08, 2006, 08:51:30 AM
In the first at Hollywood a MSW for fillies at 5f the favorite ran a 12! first time out (I\'m thinking thats pretty darn fast for a filly first time out in June).  She is coming back in 14 days, but the trainer is pretty solid 2nd time out (36%).  My thinking is if the figure is as solid as I think it is, she may be toss at 3/5 or so...Any baby race experts out there with any thoughts? Thanks

always play against a filly with a big # first out, no matter what.

rich said it right but if you are playing a p-3 ( to cope w/ short prices ) you might throw her in there as insurance ... if your playing the one track , value in dd\'s + p-3/4\'s can be found becouse it does get chalky ( at times ) in california and short fields  . last week i saw where the best shot on the card to get 20-1 was a dd , if you see 3 favs in consecutive races that look much the best and are too short for a win bet , a p -3 / dd makes sense if the plays are small in combinations , of course passing altogether is another option . though i haven\'t seen the rest of the card yet ,  i\'m probably going to let that race go - it\'s a tough one and i don\'t want to force the issue too much .
